X-Cart Dynamic Image Generator 4.1

Tired of substandard or low quality product images on your category pages? Wishing that you had a better way of handling Detail images instead of having them take up so much space on your product page? Hoping there is something out there that will take care of resizing product images for you that is simple to use?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this X-Cart modification is for you.

This image Mod will allow you to upload one large image for the product and it will dynamically generate new images as necessary. New images are dynamically created for the Product page, the Thumbs for the product listing pages, thumbnails for the shopping cart and also a popup for a detail - all from the one large image.

The product images on this page demonstrate some of the functionality of this mod. There are 6 Detail Images, 1 Product Thumbnail and 1 Product Image. All of these are displayed below the main product image and all are clickable as a popup for a larger detail view. The popup method is selectable from either JQuery Lightbox, Lightbox2, Shadowbox or Thumbnail Viewer. The last two detail images show the Admin interface as well as the standard X-Cart screen for adding a product thumbnail and product image where you can see the original image sizes. In addition, the last to images are GIF and PNG images respectively. You will see that GIF and PNG images are generated to match the source image format.

We have tried to make this version of the mod a least invasive as possible to your existing X-Cart code base. Some of the features of this mod include:

Ability to Enable or Disable mod (just like all other built in X-Cart Modules)
Works with Product Variant images
Properly preserves Alpha transparency for PNG files
Set image width on Product Page
Set image width on Products Listing Page
Set image width in Shopping Cart
Set Detail Image thumbnail width
Set Detail Image popup width
Select to display Detail Image thumbs below the main product image on the product page
Select to display Variant Images as Detail Image thumbs below the main product image on the product page
Select to display Main Product Image as first Detail Image thumb below the main product image on the product page
Select to display Product Thumbnail as first Detail Image thumb below the main product image on the product page
Select to Use the Unsharp Mask when generating new images (not applicable for PNG images)
Select Image quality level setting (for JPG images)
Select to watermark your images and also specify the font to be used
Specify keyword to precede the cached filename (e.g. keyword-fa494ef541....jpg)
Compatible with many other third party mods
Image Thumbnail Viewer Script by Dynamic Drive integrated for popup images. The images for the popup are generated by this mod.
